Card games with multiple decks and a memory can be bad news to a gambler. A bad shoe in blackjack can go from horrible to atrocious in the span of five minutes simply because as cards come out, they are no longer available for use until the next shoe has begun. Online poker is played in a much different way. Similar to craps where each throw of the dice is independent from the one before, online poker that uses one deck per round puts the player in the exact same position. If a player has lost three hands in a row, because the cards in the deck are being reset on each hand there is nothing to stop that player from winning the next hand using the some of the same cards that were pulled previously. With games such as blackjack, once a ten or jack is removed from the deck it is gone and there is one less for the player to use in a hand.
As a result, online poker should be viewed as a game where each round is like a new shoe with an equal chance of winning each and every time. I know that I would probably enjoy a game more if I knew that I had the same odds every time I played. It puts the player on level playing field with the odds remaining the same every hand unlike blackjack where the odds can fluctuate greatly depending on how many hands have been played in a given shoe and how many cards as a result, are now left. Online poker is also coveted by people who enjoy games where their decisions are independent of anyone else playing at the same time. How many times have you been sitting at the blackjack table and another player takes a card when they should not have causing you to bust.
Things like that cannot happen in online poker because you and only you decide your fate. You are the only person to relish in the victory of pulling the right card. Remember that the next time you play online poker you are not going to need ten minutes to analyze who you are playing with. By this time of your life you should know yourself.
